Сtrategic sectors

The Strategic Sectors Department consists of the Heavy Industry Division and the Precious Metals and Gemstones Division.

  • The Strategic Sectors Department coordinates:
    participation in the elaboration of policies for the development of the heavy industry and precious metals and gemstones sectors, as well as the monitoring of their current state;
  • the identification of legislative gaps and existing obstacles in the legal framework governing the heavy industry and precious metals and gemstones sectors, the development and implementation of measures to eliminate or mitigate them, as well as the drafting and implementation of state support program projects aimed at the development of these sectors;
  • activities related to the formulation and implementation of nationally significant investment and innovation projects in the heavy industry and precious metals and gemstones sectors, as well as the development of key mechanisms, priorities, and measures to support technological modernization and the introduction of innovative solutions;
  • the development and strengthening of sectoral cooperation with other countries and international specialized organizations;
  • activities aimed at resolving or mitigating issues related to the circulation of ferrous and non-ferrous (including precious) metals, as well as waste and scrap containing ferrous and non-ferrous (including precious) metals.
