On September 7, RA Minister of Economy Gevorg Papoyan met with UAE Minister of Foreign Trade Thani bin Ahmed Al Zeyoudi on the sidelines of the 15th Annual Investment Meeting in Dubai.
The sides discussed a range of issues related to expanding trade and economic cooperation between Armenia and the UAE and creating new opportunities for business cooperation.
In the context of diversifying Armenia’s export geography, the importance of facilitating access to the UAE market for Armenian exporters was emphasised. Gevorg Papoyan proposed establishing a practical communication mechanism with the relevant UAE authorities to enable Armenian companies to better understand market requirements, applicable standards, and certification procedures.
Gevorg Papoyan also proposed organising visits by UAE business representatives to Armenia to familiarise themselves with the country’s production capacities, hold B2B meetings, and facilitate the transition from trial deliveries to long-term contracts.
The sides also discussed other issues of mutual interest.
The meeting was also attended by Chargé d’Affaires of the Embassy of Armenia in the UAE Vardges Hovsepyan, Consul General of Armenia in Dubai Artak Avetisyan, and Economic Adviser to the Armenian Ambassador to the UAE Hayk Mkhitaryan.
